Well Borders is going out of business and I can say although I do buy books there I would not be a customer to keep them in business.

I went to the "40% Off Sale" only to not find anything marked 40% off. The signs on the store say Up To 40 % off. So was not the big sale that I was hoping to find and not many quilt books to be had. Got a cook book for 10% off and some motivational books for 20% off.

Oh well. :(

It's that darn "Up To" in fine print that gets us every time.

When a big company goes out of business like that, they hire a company to come in and liquidate the inventory. In most cases, the liquidation company comes in and actually RAISES the original prices on the items and then offers a measly discount.

Wouldn't I love to get in on that! I have at least as many books as I have fabrics! Or is it the other way around...? ;-)

When our Borders went out- the prices got cheaper and cheaper the closer the end came. I had two marathon binges there- with stuff from 50-80% off. Just wait a while.
