I have my pattern and my material. Hopefully I will get at this thing sometime in the next couple of weeks, depending upon how the garden stuff goes! My question is, I think I want a magnetic snap to secure the top, would you put it inside the purse at the top or would you make a flap and put it on the flap? Any ideas? Thanks.

i've done it both ways but prefer the flap

I put mine on the inside and wish I had done a flap.

The flap will give your bag a more "finished" look, I like it much better than inside the bag. I've done both but prefer the look I get with the flap.

So flap it is. What design did you use for your flap. Did you square it off, make it look like a prairie point, something entirely different?
