Anyone have this machine. There's one listed on Craigslist for $265. I know nothing about Brothers so I'd love to hear what you think.

I have this machine and I love it. I bought it at Walmart for around $200 on clearance. I am not sure what they retailed for before clearance.

I alsew have this machine, bought it on ebay 4 years ago, was cheaper than walmart then, and shipped to my door free.! I absolutely love it! never had a problem with it, loves gutermann poly thread, mine has a thread cutter on it too, really nice for paper piecing! the only thing is, im not really into the embroidery- have used it for that a couple times, but should prob have some guidance..
anyway, sews a great straight line, and awesome other stitches too!! good luck

I have this as my backup now, it was my first sewing machine bought 7/08 for $379.97 at walmart (hehe I just looked at the box). It's a great machine but I haven't used the embroidery. If you get it, make sure all the items that came with it are there and it works!

For a little bit more on Amazon you can buy the SE400 that connects to your computer, I have the SE350 and
had to buy the ped basic to download to a card

Just read it again and it does come with the Ped basic. I don't know that I want it but I would like the embroidery part if it's any good. I have two other sewing machines that I love for the stitching and piecing. I'm also looking at a Pfaff creative 4.0 but not sure what that one does. Maybe just has a USB drive to backup designs but not embroidery?

What size hoops does it use? My #1plus could only do a 4x4 and mine doesn't do it very well at all. I don't use it for that but would love to have one that does bigger things.
