Yesterday started like any other day..BUT OMG!!! My Mom was a true family Matriarch. She held our family together after my Dad's sudden passing years ago. Every Christmas was at her house..NO EXCEPTIONS. When she passed, we were all "lost" to say the least, but as adults you move on. Well, yesterday
My son called and was very shaken. He got a call for an estimate(he's a contractor) for a tile floor job. The address took his breath away...it was her house! None of us have been near her house since we had to sell it. He told the owners about the house and met them last night. They couldn't have been nicer and let him walk thru the rooms at his own pace. While talking the young man dissappeared and came back with something in his hands and said to my son "i think this belongs to you more than us" He handed my son an army atifact that belonged to my Father from the war! We had NO idea it was still in the house! The young man found it in the basement rafters!! It had my Dad's initials on it and was dated 1921. I burst into tears when my son brought it over and i told him to he could keep it. Now the real amazing part of this story is that yesterday Nov 8th was the day my Mom died! My lucky number is 5 and she died 5 years ago. My son that did the estimate was named after my Dad and my sister got a piece of mail yesterday addressed to my Mom! Of all the days for the new owners to call they picked Yesterday! Coincidence.....you decide. My parents gave us the most wonderful gift yesterday...We now know for sure they are still there watching over us from "up there" It is the BEST Thanksgiving Gift i could imagine. We are all feeling so much at peace now even missing them so much. And, to say the least....he got the job!! I just had to share this with all of you!!!! I am still stunned and in awe :!:

WOW WOW WOW WOW!

Coincidence? I THINK NOT!

I've had things such as this happen since my Mother passed, and I truly believe it is her way of letting me know she is still with me.

I literally got goosebumps reading this, thanks for sharing!

Happy Holidays!

Suzi,

Of course he got the job. What homeowner wouldn't see that he would do the job as if it were his own (because forever in his heart, it will be). That is amazing. And, God bless those people for doing the right thing with your dad's artifact. Thanks for sharing.

WOW! yes i would say that your parents are indeed "watching" over you. That is just way too many things in one day to be a coincidence.

Sometimes our loved ones can wrap their arms around us even after they are gone, consider yesterday a great big group hug from your parents.

Yes they did! I never had such a goodnight's sleep as i did last night! And having them "gone" isn't so hard now.

Suzi, Thanks for sharing that story with us. As the holidays approach it gets hard for those of us who have lost love ones. Over the years it gets easier to share stories of past holidays and brings the remaining members of the families together. It is good for our children and grandchildren to hear about our childhoods and lost loved ones.
