I have to tell you that I was at the Paducah quilt show in April and I saw that In the Beginning fabric. I fell in love with it!! The vendor had a kit but it was not large enough for what I think I wanted so I was going to have to buy more material. She told me that one of the fabrics was already sold out in her shop. She still had the others but would not be getting anymore due to the economic times only so much was being produced and that was it.

Well, I bought the kit and the pattern book then ended up going to Hancocks-Paducah and that store had all the collection including the one the vendor no longer had available. Had to take a breather, (too much fabric and quilt looking) so I left and grabbed a bite to eat. I sat there thinking about what the vendor said and decided to go back to Hancock's and buy it. I went back with no plan, not sure how much more I would need, but just bought some more of several of the designs.

I have to tell you that I was still fretting about whether or not I would have enough material. I was obsessed! Don't know when I will get around to making this quilt top but just know that it will be after this material is available SO I decided I had to do something about it. Last week a friend and I went to Paducah to the quilt museum since she had never been there and I HAD to stop at Hancock's and purchase more of this collection! I think I now have enough of the blue Camelot In the Beginning fabric for another quilt. :)

Never have felt this way about a fabric before. I think it is because the color/pattern is one that I think will be hard to "match" later on.

So, Hancock's has this collection (but at least one design was absent last week) minus my purchases.

I'm SO glad I'm not the only one that felt this way when I saw this fabric. I am going to get the book from my LQS this week and decide which one I'm going to make and then hop online and BUY, BUY, BUY that fabric!!!

On vacation at one little quilt shop in the middle of nowhere the owner told me most fabric was only printed for a short length of time. So busy stores with a large customer base usually sold out quickly. Little stores in the middle of nowhere might have a bolt for a lot longer. (This was before the economy started downhill.)

My local quit shop is also out of most of the fabric. I bought some for a class I was taking and am working on getting it done... Love, Love, Love!

I look at something and decide I really do not need it. BUT, then it grows in my mind to the point I have to have it. Well, I learned to let it go. I do not need anymore things in my house, but there is this little chinese cooking dish that keeps calling me. No, I do not need it, but it has a good price on it. I am having a good conversation with myself on not getting it. I have this with fabric to until it is sold out then I can relax. To much fabric out there to drool over, so I am learning to relax in the stores and treat it like a diet---look but do not be tempted to get.

I know how you feel. I am still fretting over than panel of the Teddy Bears Week --Have been trying to buy it since I saw it for sale on the QB. Someone else got to buy it before I read the board that day and so far no amount of looking has found it for sale. VIP Cranston piece showing daily work by the Teddy Bear.
Imagine I will survive.

I too love to buy fabric, it's like an addiction! Thankfully my school year is so busy that I don't have the opportunity to go to my LQS frequently and splurge. But now I've found this wonderful site I think I'm in trouble. I don't want to add my purchases from last week and definitly don't want my DH to find out my new obsession. ;)

I totally understand that need! I happened to be in my LQS when she opened a new bolt of batik...there were 3 ladies in the shop...the bolt never made it to the shelf as we proceeded to buy it all!!!
