A good way to enhance your quilting time is to listen to books on tape.

I do this all the time. But need a book that I don't have to pay 100% attention too, as I get caught up thinking about the quilting.

I do much of my quilting with my daughters and a friend in my living room. We chatter so much there is no time to listen to anything. When I am on my own I turn on those other wise useless music only channels on the TV or crank up the IPod to some podcast.

No, I listen to music, soft and lilting music.
I absolutely HATE to be read to, only listen when it's for passing the yearly tests where I volunteer. Otherwise, ballet kind of music is what I love.
