With practice, you can use the rotary cutter blade to rip out seams. Hold the seam open and just touch it to the blade. This looks intimidating, but it works.

Eleanor Burns does this and makes it look easy, I'm too scared to try.

I do this all of the time. I use the really small cutter and I have never cut myself or the fabric. It works great. I watched Eleanor Burns do it and I have done it that way since then.

Knowing the damage I can do with just a seam ripper, I can imagine the damage I could do with a rotary cutter!!!
