Plainpat asked the question about Quilter' Helper and many responded their camera. I am in need of a new camera. I would love to know your choice of camera and why. I am on the same level with a camera as I am with my computer----an intermediate if that helps at all. Thanks for your guidance.

I just got a Sony Cyber-Shot for Christmas and I LOVE it...then again it was a huge upgrade from the camera I had before, so of course I love it. If I had chosen one for myself, I would have gotten a Kodak Easy Share, but that's only cause it was the cheapest I could find, and you get what you pay for when it comes to cameras. I'm very happy with my Sony, so that would be my recommendation!

I have a kodak easy share....its an awesome camera. I've had 2 different ones. There's alot of different makes and models of it but th brand is Kodak Easyshare..Very affordable too!!!

I like Canon for point and shoots. They have wide range and variety. Their Digital ELPH PowerShot Cameras are intermediate - easy to use, great photo results. Their G & SX series are a little more advanced. My daughter has one of the A series; my son has a ELPH, and my husband has one of the SX series. I borrow any of theirs when I want a small camera to go somewhere. I use a Nikon D80 (DSLR) which I love but is very large and sometimes just a pain to carry around :)

I have my little Olympus FE280 and love it. got a red camera case for it too.

We decided to buy a refurbished Kodak from their web site and it is wonderful. Have had it three years with absolutely no problems! Saved us a ton of money too!

My little Nikon CoolPix has done a nice job for the price.

DD is a photographer and has an awesome Nikon. She chose the "baby" camera for me- A Nikon DSLR 3000. I wanted something to be a bit wider variety than a "point and shoot" and to do portraits. I am loving it!

Oh, I have a Nikon DSLR as well as my CoolPix. Most people don't really want to dump several thousand dollars into specialized lenses (I have some really nice lenses). It depends on what I am want to photograph as to the camera I use. If I'm taking quick pictures, the point and shoot is great. When I have room for a bulkier camera, my Nikon DSLR gets a workout. They both have their functions.

Well, I used to have a Fuji Finepix that took great photos if you had enough light. Let me be clear...the kitchen with all the lights on at night was not enough light for it to focus. At Christmas we used to have to set up shop lights all around the room so that it would be able to focus. So this summer before MIL & FILs 50th anniversary, DH got me a Nikon D90. It is the middle of their line. One of my considerations for getting this one over the similar Canon T2i was the lens options. It will take old Nikon lenses that have the Autofocus feature or ones without. But with the ones that don't have AF, you will have to do it manually. I absolutely love it. I am a lover of film, but this digital just might win me over (maybe!). It wasn't cheap, though. We bought it from Walmart.com in a package deal and saved several hundred bucks. And you really only need one battery, two maybe. I have had the same one in the camera shooting all day and night and even left the darn thing turned on all night. The battery lasted almost a week with all that shooting.
