My daughter has 2 kittens that are almost 2 years old. When she is home they are wild but she can control them. When she goes to work things really gets out of hand. She bought something from pet smart that is suppose to tame them down. She has done this for about a month now and isn't helping. Does anyone know what we can do to tame them? She doesn't want to cage them or keep them locked in a room when she is gone. When they are bad when she is there she sometimes puts them in the cage for a short time.

are they fixed, if not, do it imm. can she play with them b4 she goes out. they may be running around chasing things outside, from window to window, I don't know if caging a cat works like it will with a dog. if it calms them down, then it's o.k.
do they have enough climbing toys to climb on and get ht. they may need a bird feeder outsie their favorite window. My Zoey has a lot of climbing things, we have wide windowsills for her, and a bird feeder that feeds squirrels and birds to keep her busy when i'm gone. the poor babies miss her

They definately need some interactive toys to occupy them! They might just be rambunctious felines but cats can get bored. There are all kinds of interactive toys. My cats favor one that hangs from a door on an elastic string. The little furry thing "chirps" when the cats play with it. Also, there are the round toys that have a ball in it that the cats can put their paws into and knock it around. Cats like the noises that their toys make and it will keep them engaged for quite a while.

Cats need things to climb also, and high perches from which they can look down. Varying heights is good.

It usually helps, but in a confined area. She may not be using enough of them for the area in which the cats stay.

Yes her cats have been fixed since she got them.As for things to climb on her couch is in front of the bay window she does like to pull her blinds up but opens them. They have broke them and the one in the bedroom. Not sure what the name of the stuff is that she gives them. She has a lot of toys and some noise ones.

I have heard from other people that the Feliway does work. The stuff I bought at the pet store did not work for me.

I kept boxes with openings cut out for mine to play in and also bought tunnels and other items to entertain them. I left brown grocery bags (the paper kind) on the floor for them to play in and sheets over chairs for them to run around with. I switched things out for them so they had variety. I have 5 presently and this works great for me. Good Luck!

No she isn't. We haven't never heard of feliway.

With 2 cats, ours have always been mellow since they have company with each other. She needs to "wear them out" in the mornings and they should sleep more during the day. Some catnip toys in the morning to get them playing and then put those toys away during the day. We have paper bags that they love along with some boxes to play hide and seek in.

Yep. There is a great program called "my cat from hell" - if she gets that she may pick up some tricks.
