Default Charity Face Masks for children

I have started making face masks for children with Congenital Heart Defects who have compromised immune systems. This gives me something I can do between quilts, etc. & fulfills my need to help others. Here's a picture of some I've been making. Thanks to kacie for her generous boxes of donated fabrics for this cause. They are in need of 4 sizes....baby, small, medium & large and are used by babies, children & young adults.

Nice job! I imagine they need to be washed in allergy free soap before use or does the hospital do that?

The organization that I send them to did not request pre-washing but I did tell her that I have pets but my home is smoke free. She said it was o.k. that I had pets so I'm assuming they will be washed either by the organization or by the hospital.

Glad I impressed you, Mario. These are great "fillers" between projects. I used the Clover bias tape maker (1/2" size) to make the ties & it was so much easier than making them without the tape maker. In no time you can have miles of ties. I did not make mine on the bias.

Those are adorable, and something they can take home and re-wash and re-use over and over again. Did you make your own pattern?

JustAbit, I found the pattern on the organization's web site in 2013 & came across it in my pattern drawer about a month ago. I phoned the president/director of the organization to see if they were still needing these & she said they were but when they re-did their web site they lost the pattern. So she was glad to know that I would be making them for the children. So right now you can't go to their site & find the information. I sent her a copy of what I had printed off in 2013 & hope they will get it back on their site so others will see it & start making them again.

Those are so pretty, and will be used where needed with a smile in those pretty colors.
