Be careful when bidding on items on e-bay as you might pay more for a second hand item when you can get a new item for less.I was bidding on a beautiful quilt pattern and before I bid I looked up the cost of the pattern new and it was 50.00 so I bid up to 40.00 for it I didnt win the item but the person who did bid and won it for 102.00 I will be getting this pattern brand new for 50.00 plus 5.00 for postage so I think I got the bargin

I've also taught myself to check the "new" price before bidding.
Been burned before that.

It is so easy to get caught up in the auction fever! I don't keep too much in my paypal account just so I have to really think about what I am buying. What is the pattern that cost $50?

One of my co-workers put a used cell phone on ebay expecting maybe 50 dollars it bid out at nearly 250 dollars, more than it cost new.
