There's one seller on ebay I just love. She has penny auctions but also sells buy-it-now. I don't bother with the auctions b/c many have gone higher than the BIN price.
The others are right about checking what each seller has in their whole store.

I learnt my lesson the hard way. I put in a bid for a knitting pattern book on ebay. I won the auction with a bid of £16.00 for the book. Out of curiosity I looked the book up on Amazon, I wish I hadn't, they were selling the same book for £4.00. Needless to say, before bidding on anything I now do some research on prices.

I many people who bid on ebay are addicted to the winning process. It's like gambling and they really don't care about the price. I don't know.

I've seen that happen, too. I actually listed a piece of exercise equipment and 2 people got in a bidding war. Ended up getting over Retail for it. That was nice for me, of course!!
