some time ago, I noticed one of the people here had a note under the avatar mentioning a family member with autism, a child, and that she could be contacted. unfortunately, I misplaced the note. this last week my 2-1/2-year-old grandson was diagnosed with autism, scale 17. he starts therapy this week but I am having trouble with this. I am a medical transcriptionst for 20 years and have dealt with the autism spectrum before but only the very severe cases. I am heartsick and frightened for my loving and laughing Phoenix. if she can contact me, I would really appreciate it. thanks so much.

I believe that Rhonda was one who said that you could contact her about this.

My heart goes out to you.I had an autistic neighbor name Ritchie. He just loved people, but he hated loud noises!! He went to the regular schools and did very well.He is very smart and goes everywhere by himself.Everyone loves Ritchie!!He is super special person. He loves sports and he can tell you what the weather is in every state and country when you ask him.I moved away and I miss him very much.Everyone loved Ritchie and I am sure they still do.

Awww, I'm so sorry to hear that. I have a neighbor with Asperger's, actually 2, one is a young man now and 1 is a young girl. I'm not sure what the scale is. Best of luck to your sweet little guy!! :D

My daughters are teachers and they both work with children diagnosed with autism. One is a first grade teacher and the other teaches phys. ed. I believe that there is a group called "autism speaks" that they work with and do fundraisers for. Perhaps you could get some help from this nationwide group. PM me if you would like me to check with them more. The phys ed teacher is especially interested and loves working with special needs children. She has a special gift!!
