Default Christening Gown

From my nieces wedding gown I made a dress, hat and jacket.
The slip was her mothers wedding dress with a handkerchief from her great grandmother and crocheted by
her great great grandmother on my side of the family. The lace on the dress is from her grandmothers wedding dress(that is my mom). The Bonnet was made from my nieces wedding dress and the lace and flowers were emb. and crocheted by her great great grandmother on her mothers side.
She is also getting the elephant quilt I put on the board a couple of weeks ago.
This is all for her shower at the end of the month. Thanks for letting me show and tell.

The family is very lucky to have this heirloom. I hope they are able to pass it down with others.

How lovely and what an ingenious way to pass on the foremothers' legacy/memories.

I'd been wondering what to do with my wedding dress. No daughters, but one son married...so maybe there's hope to repurpose it! You did a wonderful thing with this. Will you write up a history to go with it?
