Default Christmas Apron

This pattern is a Sew4Home freebie with tutorial. It incorporates quilting, embroidery and sewing.

I found the counted cross-stitch 'Merry Christmas' at a yard sale this summer. I knew then it was going to be a apron bib, but not exactly which apron pattern.

The pockets and upper apron bib are quilted. There are 8 embroidered motifs - each took about 12 minutes for the embroidery machine to complete with 7 thread changes. Ugh!

The pattern called for rick rack and all I had on hand that would go with this was some little gold rick rack - doesn't make a big statement, but it is there on the pockets and at the edge of the apron!

I spent far too much time on this - but overall I am happy with result. It is lovely. Not sure what I'm going to do with it. Too nice for me to use.

Cute apron, great work. Nope, Yellowbird if you made it and spent lots of time on it, use it Don't hide it away in a drawer for the future. Use it and enjoy it now and show off your skills, you deserve it. Merry Christmas

I agree, use it!! I have a drawer full of stuff to pretty to use. In the last year I have started using stuff from the drawer and have been giving some for gifts.
