Does anyone have ideas for Christmas ornaments, decorations or small gift items that are quick, easy and inexpensive to make? Our church is participating in a Christmas bazaar with several other area churches this year. We especially need ideas for small items that can be sold for $5 or less.

Mug Rugs would like be a huge hit at bazaars at anytime of the year!! Have a demo, with some mugs and a treat sitting on them to show how sensible they are!

Individuals could make them, or you could have a group get together and have a fun day of making them and perhaps other crafts as a joint effort.

I have made tons of ornament balls... buy the satin balls ( I usally get mine at garage sales or Goodwill) insert small beading pins with sequins and beads. cover completely or make designs.
mug rugs, placemats, table toppers, hanging towels are usually a hit too

can you google image search "easy Christmas ornaments"? Some of those ideas might work for you ... I'm not sure what materials you were thinking of using or have on hand.

Gift card holders? (again, google for ideas)

Christmas gift bags? (get the plain brown or white ones from Michaels and decorate with stickers, stamps, and other items.

Make simple gift bags out of fabric.

with the economy the way it is...Christmas is going to be "useful items only" for many people!
Try to find what YOUR area would most likely buy.
Elderly will always buy for kids first..them selves last..but do think of them.
Walker bags, small lap throws, pocket tissue holders. Avoid anything with buttons!
For kids buy some coloring books at the $1 store and make the cloth covers for them where they can also store 8 crayons!
here are some sites to check out!

There thousands more...but this is a great start!

The tube bags that you can store plastic store bags in are popular here.
