Alright, so my mom told me this morning that I need to start packing my stuff up for school. I said okay. She asked what I was bringing and I said:

The mini tv along with the playstation 2 (for the DVDs) and a small handfull of books (about 10, not even), and of course the blanket, pillows and what not.

She then tells me, OH! And don't forget your sewing machine, especially since she said I'll need it! I was like, ummm... okay... So I had to add that to the things I'm going to need to take with me.

This does not include things that I am going to need to get for the room. (Mattress pad, trash can, and what not.) Ah well.

Your Mom is looking out for you! It is always a good idea to have a sewing machine handy. :D

If you are taking your sewing machine, don't forget insurance!

I know!!! I'm getting a $6000 insurance policy for my stuff, to cover the laptop, printer, tv, wii, ps2, and the sewing machine. I'm not that concerned about the ps2, but still, i'd like to be able to replace it if i need to!

They sent us information about the insurance policy, and it's a $160 premium (I think) I'm going to show it to my dad.

Make sure you take a tote type thingy to haul your personal products to the bathroom and back.
Cutting mat and rotary cutter, good reading lamp!
Extension cords, (plugs are never where you want them)
I hope you have wonderful time moving in and getting your room set up!!

I hope you have a big room. The ones I have seen on these make over shows. Have 2 or 3 in the room and you got the bed and a desk and a chest.

Our room is 15'04" by 11' which mom and I measured and it's a decent size. I only have one room mate and she is awesome! I met her yesterday!

There is enough room to have the beds seperated and still have room. I can't sleep on the top bunk.

The sewing skills and machine will help you make friends because everyone will know where to go when they need a button sewed on or slacks hemmed. Maybe you can make a little spending money. You will also be able to sew valences for your windows and put them up with tension rods.

I'm going to make curtains for my room, after I move in... Black curtains with a hot pink lining...
