I bet you I am the only one on earth whose partner went shopping in the pesticide isle for the holidays and said hey she would LOVE THIS..He knows I hate them and darned him I used the whole can but I got bug spray for Christmas!!! It has provide many a laugh and tops the most remembered and talked about gift I have ever received.

One year for Christmas I bought hubby a pair of full length pajama/underwear. Had the dropseat and all in it and they were Fire Engine Red! He loved them!
He only got them because he was always complaining about being cold on board the sub and wearing just short and tshirt under his poopy suit was not keeping him warm....so, a pair of long underwear was in order. lol

My most memorable gift was not "goofy" really, but I couldn't help but chime in becuase it was quite funny. It was from my brother who was 5 at the time. I was 13 and had just had my ears pierced. I opened the box, and inside was a greasy, broken metal washer of some sort. You could tell it had been out in the street, and run over several times. It had bits of grit on it, and was broken so that it was more like a C shape than an O shape. After whispering to everyone in the house "do you know what this is?", and receiving a negative answer from all, I finally decided to ask my brother. His answer was so sweet that I kept that gift in my jewelry box (until just a few years ago, the box got lost in a move, it broke my heart). So, what was that gift? A nose ring of course! He knew I had rings for my fingers, and wore necklaces and bracelets, and now I had lots of earrings for my newly pierced ears - but I did not own one single nose ring! I still count it as the most thoughtful gift I have ever been given.

DH always gives me fabulous gifts, but he loves to throw in something odd as well... Quite some time ago, I was hooked on watch'n Zina the Warrior Princess series... He got me a Zina Warrior Doll!!!! I'm sure my face gave away my thoughts *giggles* Fortunately he followed up w/something nice but the funny part is that I remember the doll & not what the nice gift was lololol I love those kinda memories *grins* And I still have the doll!

I got 25 pair of earrings one year for Christmas. I have a bad habit of losing single earrings so my DH (then just a DBF) went to one of those cheep jewelry stores and bought 24 pair. He also bought a single pair of really nice and expensive aquamarine earrings as well. But, it was really funny opening up a Christmas gift that was a shoe box full of earrings.

Oh gosh, it was a pair of animal bedroom shoes. At the eleventh hour, fifty-nineth minute......he ran in the door with a big box, wrapped from Kmart. I opened it the next morning. The look on his face was more surprised than mine. In his 'spirited' moment, he' purchased a man's size eleven right foot wolf and a man's size 12 left foot bear. UGH I'd wished I'd never opened it, because it hurt him and his look hurt me. He never read the rules of shopping, like not when you are hungry or in a hurry or 'spirited'.
