We're looking for different things to do on our "date nights"... so thought I'd ask here....what do you all do with your sweetie when you have a night to yourselves? (BESIDES **THAT** )

We sometimes go to the casino...sometimes a movie, altho I hate movies....we have a blast when we go camping...evenings that aren't spent cooking for our "annual dinner party" are spent together playing games, just the two of us...but somehow that never carries over to homelife. I'm hoping for more/better ideas....

My DH and I used to square dance for a long time. It was fun and a lot of exercise, no drinking, just nice people who got together to dance and enjoy themselves in a decent way. We even took the kids, who started dancing themselves at about age 12 or so. Even took the baby with us, nursed him in a corner with a blanket draped over my shoulder. No problems with that. Several families brought their little kids.

My Grandma said that when she was young they went to square dances in people's homes or barns, and put the kids to bed in a mass of quilts or coats on any available flat surface, including hay bales.

I remember square dancing. It really is a lot of fun. Or ballroom dancing.

take out subs and coffee to the beach, and collect the little shell pieces that have been washed smooth.

Hikes and snowshoeing.

Quilt shows, he likes looking at all the quilts as much as I do.

Cooking class or preparing a gourmet meal together? Foot rubs for dessert?

We like going to play put put golf.
Instead of going to the movies we rent a couple movies either from redbox or netflix and hang out on the couch.
Paint your own pottery.
comedy clubs are fun.
Ice skating in the winter.
Wine tasting.
Geocaching.

Here is a really neat website where you can get ideas for date nights under 30 bucks. Most of them are much cheaper than 30.00 http://thirtydollardatenight.com/

William has some back problems....so I'm not sure that dancing or bowling would be an option for us...I'll have to ask if he thinks he could handle that!

We cook together quite a bit...but the footrubs sounds nice!! :)

Thanks Ladies!!

I know this sounds extremely lame but my hubby and I love to go to Barnes & Noble and hang out for hours. Same with the library. But not on a date night, just a fun thing.
