I found this great debt reduction calculator on bankrate.com. You plug in all your debt information (vehicle loans, credit cards, etc) and it gives you a customized payoff calendar or "schedule". You can put it information like "windfalls" (like tax returns, bonuses, etc) and extra money you can free up by cutting costs during the month.
It's a bit involved, but well worth it! (it took me less than 15 minutes)
Anyways! I used it and I really like it. Here is the link:

I hope someone finds it helpful!

We have 2 debts.......

My truck payment and the mortgage on the house.

Other than utilities we don't owe anyone.
We won't use credit cards, that is a scam all unto itself.

I use Dave Ramsey's mortgage calculator all the time. It is amazing what a few bucks here and there does.

No debt here. Only basic bills like utilities, insurance, gasoline, food, and fabric. Debt is a four letter word!

Bellaboo- I love how you put fabric right up there with food. Telling it like it is- you're my kind of person!

As much as I'd like to not have debt..life happens :-D So I've been 'out of debt' but right now that's not the case  Thanks for the link, when I don't need it anymore, I know others who do. I also think it helps people to get more motivated to pay up when they see ahead of time that there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

We owe mortgage and car. No credit cards. It's good to KNOW where you stand and no surprises.

OH - I do owe the LQS....seems I do anyway...I give her a portion of my paycheck monthly!!! LOL

I think some LQS should just set up an automatic payroll deduction program! Hmmm.... maybe we could do this with pre-tax dollars? Call it a healthcare expense?? Quilting is therapy, right??
