Default Digitizing Software

Is digitizing software made specifically for particular brands of machines or are there universal programs? Are they difficult to use? I have a Brother SE400. Does anyone have recommendations for me?

Most digitizing software has the ability to save designs in formats for different machines. I use Artista (Bernina) and Floriani Software and stitch on a Brother embroidery machine. I just save my designs to the PES format.

I use Embird and Generations. Both are able to save to different formats. Embird is a good one to start out with and it is a lot cheaper than Generations.

I have a basic program called Embroidery Magic 2, very inexpensive , an the learning curve is not as high as some of them out there. It saves design in dst formatand it can be changed to a format for your machine.

Unless you intend to do it for a living you don't have to invest in the expensive software. I have most every program out there. The floriani software has a lot of great features. Do your homework or you will invest in something that you won't use. You can go online and a lot of the programs have tuts that will show you the options. They all convert to the sewing formats for all machines.

I just got the Floriani Pro Suite last month, but have not
had time yet to practice and learn how to use it.

I got it for a very good price, but from what I have seen
it can cost about $1800 for it. Like I said I got a good
deal on it so I did not pay that price.

I also just got the Floriani Pro Suite and like you have not played with it yet. I'm hoping it isn't too difficult to learn. Please let me know what you think of it.

I too would recommend Embird for Digitizing. Embird is an incredible buy for dollars spent. Best thing about it.... it is AWESOME! JMHO

I just took a class from floriani today and ended up buying the software..it looked very easy to use. I have one already of another brand..have had it for years and could never figure it out. Sure hope this is easier!
