Dishwasher is done!!!!!!!!!! husband said no way was it fixable {After a big fit to look at it,it is still setting in the middle of the kic. in peices.} So now do I just gave up and let him [they don't work anyway] win, and not get a new one? If I do get a new one what kind? It is ture that some not worth bring home. But know they are some good one out there. Help I don't went to gave up this much quilting time to have to wash dish evernday. we have four boys, and on sunday it is not unsual to have 10 poelpe for dinner on sunday. if was just the two if us I would think about not getting a new one but one DIL thinks that she is good to help at all and other would work herself to the bones helping, so can't have her help and get nothing out of the other.
SORRY. What kind of dishwasher dose a GOOD job and not cost a arm and leg ?

Get an energy saver in whichever brand will fit the space so you don't have to change your kitchen. Stress that as well as saving time, using a dishwasher kills germs for a healthier family.

My daughter got a new one for her new home about a year ago - I think she paid around $700, but its a Kitchenaid. I am totally amazed at just how well it cleans dishes and how incredibly quiet it is. My next D/W will be one of those, as it's worth the $$ to me. She had old dishes (pyrex) that had baked in stains that she couldn't get out no matter how hard she scrubbed. The first time she washed those in it, all came out sparkling clean. Ours is a Whirlpool, but its loud, and I don't think it does nearly as good a job as hers does.

I bought a Bosch & loved it, but sold the home. Thereafter, have had GE appliances in the homes we leased. They were good, so when we bought a "new to us" home, we replaced the old dishwasher with a GE. It is relatively quiet, but I usually run it at bedtime, just in case. LOL I can lots of $$ on some things, but this mid-priced item seems to do the job satisfactorily for us. DD has a Sears and it does not wash completely. Tell DH to move the trash and go buy what your budget allows, that is, unless he will be the permanent dishwasher, available on demand! It is not a luxury any more, but a health requirement. Measure and then measure again! We bought the 'exact' same brand and model DW and it was 1/2" too tall to fit under our counter top. We we had to grind out the ceramic tile and 'jerry-rig' the feet so it would fit. The installation took 3 days. So make sure you measure the height of your opening and then measure the DW at the store.

I have a Kithenaid and it has been a jewel...Have had it several years now and it's still cleans great...very much worth the Xtra $$...
