DO YOU RECYCLE CALENDERS?
#1
Just put up my new 2010 calenders - yea I'm a few days behind. What do you do with your old calenders? I have wrapped gifts with them, even received a letter with the envelope made out of a calender. Some of the pictures are so pretty. Do you just toss them or re use them?

Oh, I could get creative recycling my 2009 calendar. DS gave me "Nuns Having Fun" with 12 black/white photos of nuns in habits doing interesting things, like riding tricycles, mowing the lawn, playing on a swing, skiing, roller skating and playing soccer. He thought it was so funny that he gave me another version for 2010. I think he liked it more than I did, but it is different! (And no, we are not Catholic, just like to laugh!) Making envelopes might be interesting...

If there is a picture I like, I will cut carefully so the hole isn't there anymore, and have the picture laminated. Then, I hang them up in my classroom. Lots of the time a student will have written his/her name on the back of a picture to claim it at year's end.
I always buy calendars with artwork I like. Bev Doolittle, Escher, various native artists, quilts!

Get double on my money:wink:
edited to add: oh, and the ones with all the pretty pictures: I made a collage with all the animals for my grandbabies to enjoy. I have a stack of flower pictures, bc i love the colors. They would make great wrapping ppr or small gift bags.
I might let my granddaughter cut shapes out of them. She loves doing things like that and glueing them on paper.
Think she is going to be a future scrapbooker and of course a quilter.
