A bit severe but sometimes it is very necessary.

Love it...I see nothing wrong with this. My kids grew up under the "threat of death" if they touched my sewing scissors.

After many warnings not to use my sewing scissors, my ex failed to heed the caution. I promptly went right out and bought a brand new pair of $50 Gingher shears and gave him the receipt when I walked in the door. Never said a word, just handed it to him. He respected my tools after that.

Of course, maybe that's one reason we're no longer together, you think?

My husband would look at that as meaning "these scissors are only for stabbing" and he'd take them in the yard and use them to kill moles.

I came home from work one evening, a few years back...in my living room is my son's fiancee wrapping Christmas presents...
After seeing which scissors she was using (Gingher), I walked pass her to find my son. I told him that he needed to go out and get me a new pair of scissors...he got pale. He knew what that meant...ran upstairs and took the scissors away from her. There were 2 pairs of scissors right in plain sight in the kitchen....she had to go into my sewing room and get them from in front of my machine...
Thankfully, my son smartened up and they are no longer a couple...and yes, I did get a new pair of scissors for Christmas. She and I were never the same since...she knew the rules.

I bought a set of Singer scissors, the ones with the white and red handles.........these are the all purpose scissors.

My husband respects my tools, and I show him the same consideration regarding his tools.

I keep my good scissors in a drawer in my sewing room. Out of sight out of mind, sure works around here. I buy two dollar scissors to be used on everything else.
