Amen. There are many other jobs out there that we all do, not for the paycheck, but for the impact we can have on others lives. Money is not the goal, impacting others lives for the better is good.

Teachers rock! I have so many wonderful memories of my teachers. My kids do too! Such an important job, and many teachers would not even call it a job. That's what makes a great teacher. They do it for the kids and the reward of enlightening a mind. What a rewarding career. I hope all you teachers know how much we appreciate you.

Thank you so much. I am printing this out for my DD who has explored a number of majors in college, all based on what they "pay" and has finally decided on being a special ed. preschool teacher. I see the happiness in her face after student teaching in her preschool class and know no amount of money can buy that. My kids and my dear granddaughter have had many wonderful teachers who influenced their lives more than they will ever know and I am thankful to them all.

[b]THANK YOU !!!!! for posting this. As a reading interventionist it really touched me. I have been called a glorified baby sitter. I work with children in Kindergarten through 3rd grade that are struggling to read. This year I had 40 students myself. It's very rewarding to see a child that is struggling to read to be able to read on their own. To me that is what my job is about not how much or how little pay I make.
