The local (anchorage, ak) news is not calling for emergency evacuation of coastal communities here, but I looked on the projection times and it's all up the pacific coast and Hawaii. Yuk.

The last news I heard was the wave should be 5'to 7' high. So it shouldn't go too far past the coast line. I hope there aren't any silly people who stand on the beaches to see it.

These earthquakes, tsunamis, hurricanes are just scaring me. Never seen so many so close together.

Wish Terri would post.

Yes, these are worrisome, hopefully partly media hype. I am a bit concerned, I have a son down there (fly fishing guide) but I think he is pretty far down from where the earthquake hit! That being said, we sure would love to hear from him, last time he had just left 4 days prior to the volcano erupting and it wiped out one of the fishing camps he worked at.

The tsunamis are a direct result of the earthquakes.

But it is scary to see two huge earthquakes one so soon after the other, and in such different places, too. I mean, Haiti is in the Atlantic Ocean and Chile is on the Pacific Ocean. I wonder if anything will happen to the continental countries between them: Brazil, Bolivia, whatever else is there.

By the way, the governor of Hawaii says the threat to Hawaii is over.
