Hello everybody,
Im sitting here searching the internet for easy ideas to sew for Christmas gifts. Then I thought that asking all of you would probably be much easier and I will probably get much better ideas from all of you.
Thank you,
Judy

Depending on who you are sewing for, cloth napkins are quick and easy. Mothersare suckers for placemats done with crayon drawings from their kids. it seems to me the teenage girls never have enough tote bags and they like the simple kind that's just a big bag. Cloth covered picture ablums are not exactly sewing but fast, easy and cheap.

Quiltbug.com has a cute table runner, and I just made some quitck and easy table toppers. Make an Ohio Star on any 12 inch block and on the corners put a triangle instead of a whole square. Then boder it with another fabric, put batting and backing on and quick turn it. I just finishe making four of them . When done it is octogon shaped. Marge

pillow cases -

I purchased some 12x16 inch "little" pillows - and made pillow cases for them - I used the "housewife pillowcase" style

That style might have another name, but that's the name that gave me the "how-to" for making them. (The dimensions given on that web site were for either a queen or king size pillow.)

It's an envelope style and looks quite neat and tidy.

Well I do a few different things:

This year I am making
1. scarves..very easy there is a free pattern for them on the Amy Butler website.
2. Fabric rose necklaces and headbands..they have tutorials on the web

3. slippers..they have so many cute patterns out there ..you can use felted wool, minky or fleece..cute cute cute!

4. I like to do whole table settings from table runners, napkins and place mats...you can make them so easily without a pattern

5. bags...everyone uses them and they have so many patterns out there that are inexpensive or free and only take a few fat quarters or small amounts of material anyway. I really cute fast pattern that I like is by Karlee fuchs ..it is the market tote I beleive..she has a blog and an account on etsy I think. Anyway this bag only uses straight cuts and it took me an hour to make it the first time less after that...and it is darling.

I hope that helps!
