Default Ever seen one of these?

I picked up a Singer treadle model 15? sewing machine Thursday.Pictures of that to follow later. Found this implement in one of the drawers. Directions say it is used to make rugs on the sewing machine. Anyone here ever used one?

I have never seen one of these but it sure looks interesting. Isn't it amazing what the older folk invented before the age of the computer?

Yes, in older sewing notions and supplies when visiting yard sales. It took me awhile to figure out but what I think is that it is used to makes type of fringe.

Yes, I have one DDIL picked up at a yard sale. I tried using it, too complicated to suit me. I would rather go to the store and buy a rug ready made, and save my time for quilting. but it makes a good conversation piece.

Very unique! I never saw or heard of one before. This tool is very clever. Thanks for the link nvb50. I learned something new.

I have one but never used it. I used a bent coat hanger and wrapped rug yarn around it and then sewed up the middle. The rug lasted for years.
