okay I finally made one and love it so now I want to make as gifts. My question is what is the most time you can put them in the micro. I have a 1000 watt oven and have used it up to 3 and 1/2 min. I would hate to give them and it flames up . so if I could put instructions on them with the time limit warning would be great.
Thanks

I made mine with 100% cotton everthing.....cloth, thread, batting. I have used it up to 7 minutes without any problem. I have a 1000 watt MW.

going to make some for my daughters also. going to tell them to just use them when they are heating up individual bowls of EX; chili or a bowl of corn or something for dinner. that seldom takes longer than 2-3 min.
will be watching this to see what the advice is

OK... since I was the one who gave the tutorial on these, I have left mine in for 10 minutes and had NO problems. As I stated in my tut.... YOU MUST use 100% of everything just like erstan947 said. I also have a high watt microwave. If you use batting made with polyester you will have problems with it.

The instructions that I found on another site said not to use for longer than 8 minutes. so when I make the instructions for mine I state 6 minutes just to be on the safe side.

PS... Also make sure your instructions say for RE- HEATING only. This is what I put on all my instructions. I also would not have left it in my Microwave for 10 minutes, this was a fluke and I probably would not advise that to anyone. So always instruct that to use with caution just like anything else, and of course a little common sense goes a long way too.
