Not to long ago I read a page here that talked about Face Book securities and thought I'd share this information that I had received from the Army FRG a while back. Maybe this will help someone that uses Facebook and didn't know they were being tracked.

Sadly with the increase in technology in this day and age, comes the
ever increasing fact that it is getting easier to invade your personal
privacy. There are many new apps to cellular smart phones or social
networking web-sites that enable your friends, but anyone can gain
access, to see either your current location utilizing GPS technology or
your previous locations.
Facebook's newest of these such apps enables a tracking "feature" in the form of an app named "PLACES I CHECKED INTO". This app is automatically active on all Facebook accounts until explicitly disabled. This application utilizes the IP address or mobile phone GPS data to identify the precise location where a user logs onto their Facebook profile.
The application posts the status on the wall of the user's profile
including a map with a push pin showing the user's exact location.
Obviously, this has significant OPSEC implications and removes much of the effort of electronic stalking.
Included is a guide on how to properly configure this app to ensure the
account holder's privacy is protected to the fullest extent possible.
Facebook users should properly configure this app's security settings
immediately, due to the inherent risks and privacy concerns.
