Yes I have facebook and I'm one who really likes it I have connected with classmates and cousins I haven't seen in years. I have 8 daughters who live all over the place and we stay in touch better through f/b and texting than by talking because we all have different work schedules. We share pictures, stories, etc. Of course it can be abused, and yes anything and everything you say is public, much like talking on a PA system in Grand Central Station. I also have some quilt board friends that are f/b friends and we use the live chat when we're both on at the same time. It has good and bad points, but I am a fan, albeit a careful one.

You can block the games easily. Many people don't know that.
Also you can block people so they don't show up on your news feed but you can still visit their page occasionally and they never know the wiser. One might think why be their friend if you block them but I do have a friend who posts alot of anti-Creation and anti-God (the day he posted 17 times in 24 hours I blocked it) I don't mind "visiting" him occasionally and I don't mind when he comments on my stuff but I couldn't deal with all the links and articles he was posting so I blocked him.
You can also block certain people from your own status updates if you wish. I've done that occasionally with political links and articles that I post when I don't feel like a "debate" on my page LOL

Once you get in there and find your way around, you really can control alot of what you see and what others see.

It isn't for everyone though - it is a social sight that's for sure!
