A couple mornings ago, I was in the living room watching the news and weather when my son got up. As he walked into the living room, I told him, "Hey, it is only supposed to get up to 98 today!" (Yes, I did use the word "only.") My son's response was, "Oh, wow! I'm ready for some cooler weather!" I said, "Yeah, me, too! It's also supposed to be even cooler this weekend with the temps in the mid-90's!" And I was excited about it!!

Later, while driving to work, I thought about this conversation and just had to laugh! It's sad when you get excited that the temperatures are only going to be in the UPPER 90's!

Just thought I would share the excitement! LOL

My dh and I split our time between Austin (hot hot hot and humid) and Lubbock (not as hot and not much humidity). When he's in Lubbock and I'm in Austin, he loves to send me texts to let me know how cool and dry it is, always a nice breeze. I send him one back and remind him that I have the grandson!

I know what you mean. The humidity just makes it so much worse. When the temps are around 104, the heat index is 110 or above.

There is a huge amount of road and bridge construction going on in Texarkana right now and I just don't know how those guys work in that kind of heat...and in the direct sun. I'm sure this "cooler" weather has been a blessing to them as well.

Fortunately we've had a few days of mostly rain, so the temp hasn't been as bad. Unfortunately, the sun is out now and the humidity is climbing rapidly!

I do the same thing. Especially when the it's been above 105 for several days. I don't like those days, or the 110 days. Just sucks the energy right out of you. It was 106 here yesterday.

I'll tell you how you know it's too hot. You look out your front window and see the Meadowlarks sitting in the shade of your trash can!!

I live in the Houston area so the conversation sounds perfectly normal to me.

We had a record in Sacramento at 108 yesterday and our air coditioner blew up a capacitor. When the A/C gives up, I think it's too hot.

I can't believe how hot and humid it's been all over the country this summer. I know some places are hotter and more humid than others, but I really pray for the people that have to work out in the heat and especially the homeless! Can't even begin to imagine what that must be like. I am so blessed with a great hubby and a wonderful home with air conditioning and heat.
