I have been planning to go to our annual family reunion and got all ready to go..made cucumber sandwiches(tiny ones) and a homemade angel food cake. Went and nobody there....checked the other shelter house.Nobody there either. Went home(as it was only 4 miles) and looked at the card...IT WAS YESTERDAY. It has never been on Saturday before....so I missed the reunion, missed going to my husbands picnic (same day, sunday) and have all those cucumber sandwiches to eat..(yum) and the cake too. (double yum)
Oh well, guess next time will look at the invitation closer....

yes I have done that also, not family reunion. We had moved our 2 DGK ages 1st gr. and preschooler age from KS to live with us and the firsty day of school. I dropped her off at the school and the younger one at daycare and went to work. she wasn't suppose to go that day as they were starting them out every other day for a half of day. You know those are the risk of grandparenting in this age of rush, rush, rush. Then a couple of years ago I left the now 13 yr old younger one for soccer and took off to go pick up a dif kid and got back and his team was across town. I have been there and done that...

Didn't miss a family reunion, but a wedding. Had the date right, got dressed, reread the invitation....I was 3 hours late! Just undressed and stayed home.

I thought you were going to say, got there and had left the food at home, that's what I might have done.

You're lucky you have one every year, I have only been to two in my life.

My Sister and I went to the Family reunion several years ago. Had to travel for 5 hours to get there. we went to the park and waited all afternoon in the heat. We went back to the motel room and looked through the invitation that we received and called one of the Cousins on the list. Seems that one of the Cousins passed away that morning and since we had not come for 30 years they did not call and let us know. We have chuckeled over it for years.
