Well, 5 minutes into my quilting today, it finally happened to me. I sewed through my finger. It happened so fast I have no idea how it happened or how my finger got in harms way. The needle hit the side of my nail and slid off and into my finger beside the nail. My reaction was to pull away so I ripped the needle out the side of my finger. Bent that sucker all to heck.
Luckily I didn't bleed on my quilt!!!!
It sure does hurt tho. Sighhhhhhh, hope I can get back to my quilting soon.

Sorry you had an accident with your machine. I hope your finger heals quickly and doesn't keep you from quilting.

Well, it was borderline for stitches so I let it bleed good, then cleaned it and bandaged it up. Couldn't stand the idea of going to the ER on a weekend, LOL.
I was a nurse in my previous life so I think it will be fine. The edges are staying together well so far.

I was sewing wildly expensive silk organza for a wedding dress when it happened to me. I'm glad your quilt is safe. Are you soaking the finger in warm soapy water for 15 mimutes twice a day?
