When our cat (now deceased) was young, she would run ahead of us when we headed for the bathroom and jump in the tub and watch us do whatever we did, whether personal hygiene or other chores. One day, my husband had run some bath water, and did something or other in another room of the house while waiting for the tub to fill. When he did head for the bathroom, the cat ran and jumped in the tub. Was she ever surprised!! She jumped out as quick as she had jumped in, and never tried that trick again. She really didn't like water. It was funnier in real life than my relating it is. My husband had a knack of telling it so it was funny. I don't have that knack, sorry.

I've seen DVD's for sale with instructions on how to teach your cat to use the toilet. For real.

Yes, for real. It doesn't even take much training, because cats prefer to be clean. They even sell toilet seat inserts so cats can sit more comfortably.

My grandmother used to fuss at us for not flushing the toilet after pooping until she caught her cat, Billy, doing the deed! I have never tried to teach mine, but it would be so nice not to have that litterbox smell that comes with having a cat.

My kitty uses the toilet - for a drinking fountain!
Also, when my now 19yo son was 2 or so, he put the new kitten in the toilet - twice! Luckily, he didn't know how to flush!

We had a Siamese that was toilet trained. It came in real handy until it discovered that my sister kept all her shoes under her bed. She really liked the shoes.

I have seen this when we had a Siamese - and it was my Dad who sat down without looking. That tale still gets laughs at Christmas time!

Our cats always drank out of the toilet. WHen I was a kid I was always trying to sneak up behind them and scare them so they'd fall in. I'm sure my mom would have loved to have a cat tracking toilet water through the house.

Thanks for making me laugh about the kitties. Great 'signts' in my mind. We had a cat that watched as the water went down the drains, toilet too. It only took one time of falling in. LOL
