Default Flamingo Mama

I made this wool Penny rug because I wanted to play with a new technique, Beaded Buttonhole Stitch. You can see the beads around the black center square. I can see possibilities with this stitch and I'm already thinking about new places to apply it....! The other thing that is different on this piece is that I used two-part plastic "safety eyes" for the birds.

I'm not sure what happened to the color on the top picture. It is not that florescent in real life. It should look more like the second photo.

Your stitching is terrific and I love the beaded blanket stitch - wonderful piece. Thank you. Love to know how, is this beaded variety really, really time consuming?

Love that piece!!! And a timely post for me as I am working on a wool table topper and there is still time to add the beads if I choose to some of the flowers. Thanks!!

I had used the two part eye's that you have on a recent project - a flannel baby blanket. Being a baby blanket I washed it before sending to the recipient. The iris only on one of the eye's came off, so my frog had one brown eye and one eye with a pupil only The one's I used were a button with a eye hook. Needless to say I removed them before sending as I didn't find them "safe" in the least for a baby.
