Thank you! I am so very tired of the snow and the cold this year. Usually by now I'm looking for the first Robbins. This storm is a bit more scary with the threat of ice. I can't imagine power outages in this cold. Although having time to quilt is nice, I'm really ready to be able to go outside and take a walk in the woods.
I remember living in Des Moines and all the snow and cold we had in 83/84. But I was so much younger then LOL

It is snowing to beat the band here! About 5 hrs ago we had a measly couple of inches. Now, about 6 inches or better. It's ugly looking out there. And WINDY! So far, still have power. We do have a generator if that goes, so we're good. As soon as I finish coffee, I guess I'll start the shoveling process.

We may get 2 or 2-1/2' tomorrow. We still have old snow from the last snowfall.
Snow doesn't create as much of a problem as ice does.
I am getting tired of the up and down temps. never last long enough to get use to it.

I'd planned to move more firewood to the deck today but got an unexpected babysitting call- Drat. Light snow right now, 14" or so by tomorrow noon. Hope to get home before dark. The back porch door chose today to snap it's hinges so the snow will just blow right in to the kitchen door. I love my old farmhouse, but there are brief moments when I long for a simple apartment and someone else to do the repairs and shoveling. Janet- east of Albany, NY

I'm in central pa and we had at least 6inches at nine this morning and it's still going strong. The highway in front of my house is white. It looks like we have no roads around us at all. Penn dot must be waiting out the worst of this.
So far so good on the power front. We have a fireplace for heat just in case and df is keeping his cell on the charger at work and I'm keeping mine charged. We have a car charger just in case though.
I'm more worried about how heavy our pine trees are getting. I'm worried one will snap under the weight of all this snow.

We have caught it here in SC....don't want to pass it along to you upper East coasters, but on the other hand, I am more than glad to see it go! And I can guarantee you that before this happens again, I will have a set of gas fireplace logs installed and operational! (Have a fireplace but don't want to heat with wood!) And since I have a treadle to sew on and battery operated lights and TV, I'm good! Looks like I won't be getting out of my drive until tomorrow afternoon if things go well! Lots of luck to the rest of my fellow quilters! (I was extremely lucky, only lost power for about 2 1/2 hours earlier today...)
