Games for bridal shower ??

Back when I was (much) younger and my friends were getting married, we'd usually have a game of Bridal Bingo.
Another game, for various occasions, was "What's in The Bag?" You put assorted objects into a paper bag and pass it around. Each person has a certain amount of time, to feel the objects (without looking). AFTER the bag is passed, the person starts making his/her list of what was in the bag. Some of the objects should be easy to identify and at least a few should be hard to identify. Examples - bobby pin, rubber band, spoon, bottle cap, piece of plastic, piece of fabric, twist-tie, cotton ball, piece of yarn, straw, etc. The winner is whomever remembers and identifies the most items, correctly. The more items you include, the better.

Make a corsage of silk roses, put in a paper bag, a large grocery bag is just right; roll the top of bag down a couple times, so it won't come open, staple shut. Tell guests there's a pair of old time bloomers in the bag and whoever is left holding the bag when the music stops has to put them on and and let everyone see how they fit. When you finish laughing give the corsage to the honoree. Just play music long enough to pass the bag around 2 or 3 times.
Also have a small notebook, wirebound, ask each person to write their favorite tip for baby on a page and any other notes they would like to share with the new mother. You can decorate the front of the book in like manner suitable for mother to enjoy reading.
Cut white paper in triangles, enough for everyone to get at least one, perhaps 2 of them. In one of them mark with brown marker. Fold as a diaper, pull over each side to the middle(on the long side) then fold the bottom up, it will look like an old fashioned diaper then pin with a gold safety pin in the middle. Who ever gets the poopy diaper wins a prize. All the prizes should be baby themed so they can be given to expectant mother.

OOPS!!!! Thought I read baby shower.....you can use the first 2 anyways. On the second one decorate for a
bride and ask attendees to write their best homemaker tips inside.
Save the last one above for when someone does have a baby.
On the paper bag the old fashioned bloomers are in you can draw underpanties on it or perhaps the long legged old fashioned bloomers on it.

Well I heard that there were quite a few games at my bridal shower, unfortunately I wasn't there <g>. It was supposed to be a surprise and SURPRISE I decided to go shopping instead!!
one of the games I heard about the next day at work was to name objects usually - and not usually - found in a purse and whoever had the most items won. I do know the one that won had a pair of channel locks and a cork screw in her purse. I don't want to know why.
Also want to pass along a neat table favor idea - this was at a wedding but can be used anywhere. The name plates for seating were little bottles, each had a tag that said "Drink Me" and the persons name. These had various Schnapps flavors but you could use anything.

If it's a multi-generation bridal shower, I always enjoy the "What is it" game. You go through the kitchen junk drawer and get some of the gadgets that you've purchased over the years and attach numbers to them. I also went into a kitchen shop and picked up a few brand new gadgets. You see how many of the young ladies know what a hand beater, lemon zester, strawberry huller, string bean maker, orange peeler, ice tongs/sugar tongs etc are. Most of the older generation always get those but are stumped on the new ones like mandolin, salad clams, cup cake holder, pie crust edge guards etc. The person who gets the most correct answers gets a prize and the gadgets I purchased to add to their junk drawer.

When all else fails, there is the dice game. There are several wrapped items in the center. A pair of dice are shaken into a pie plate and then passed on to the next person. Whoever gets a double can claim a prize.
I prefer that the game winners get to keep their prizes, too --

This one is challenging. Gather every white food item you can and put about 1/4 cup in little baggies. Number the bags and pass around the circle...pass out paper with the items listed and everyone has to put the right number by the item. Sugar, salt, powdered sugar, flour, pancake mix, white cake mix, baking powder, baking soda, cream of tartar, Bisquick, etc.
