Garden

I have read pretty often that many quilters also love their gardens. I have one - but every year I get too busy and end up dissapointed. Can anyone suggest a good gardening board? I love this one and thought maybe someone here can direct me. I search, but always tend to find the ones that are not very updated or don't have very recent posts.
Any suggestions? This board helped get me going with quilting - I hope to find something to help me get going with my garden :)

It seems to me that quilters MARRY gardeners...I've read several threads where quilters showed off thier husbands gardens... my husband does the gardening, I pay for the supplies and do the canning... he doesn't spend any time on boards other than the Corvette boards, you might try Better Homes & Gardens, I'll bet they have some links. Good luck

I'm a gardner, and hope to have a garden this year if I'm feeling good enough to get it planted! I haven't had one for the last 5 years because we moved to a condo, but we are now in a house with a big yard, so I hope to get one in. What do you want to grow?

Don't know of any gardening forums, but I have had gardens for many years.
For starters, I can't think of one crop that is ready to harvest in a week!! LOL
It can be a real crapshoot in Texas, between the fire ants, the heat, drought, or too much rain.......and sometimes, the most prolific crops are the weeds. What the birds don't eat, the grasshoppers will.
Ummmmm.........have you thought about trips to the Farmers Market leaves more time for quilting?

You can get a lot of information from your local County Master Gardener's program. They will know all the tips on your particular area. You can call them with questions and they will point you in the right direction :D:D:D
