Other than cutting them for interesting floral displays... is there a use for garlic scapes (the developing flower stalks)?

They HAVE to be cut, before they go to seed everywhere. (That was a different post...)

I'd never heard of garlic scapes before but I just looked them up and found some recipes. Now I have to find some to buy. I don't remember ever seeing them in my local groceries. I can't grow any since I'm in an apartment, don't even have a place for a window box...lol
They sound delicious.

I also have garlic growing everywhere. Sort of like my strawberries that have run amuck. Anyway, a few uses for the garlic scapes is to throw them on the compost pile, pickle them, put them in stir fry dishes, use them when making spaghetti sauce, make garlic pesto. I have also used them when I make Kimchi which is an Asian fermented condiment.

Last year was the first time I found them in the market, we just brought them home & cut them and stir fried them in olive oil & salt & pepper. They were tasty, but they were quite pricey.
