Unhappy garment labels !!!

Do you ever find the label inside a new sweater or dress just driving you crazy ! The thing I'd like to know is, why are they sewn on so well ? Tiny stitches that when you try to unpick them usually results in the scissors cutting into the garment. The worse ones are those with the makers name sewn in metalic thread----- if only the said garment was so well constructed. Can you guess? I've just found that the new top I put on today has one of those darn labels-- and the stiches are so small and imbedded I can't remove them.Bring on the back scratcher ! love Letty.

maybe you could just sew a soft patch over the entire label?

I usually wind up taking them out - can't stand anything scratchy. Just pick the stitches from the label side and you won't hurt the garment.

And some labels that aren't so bad, when you wear another garment OVER it, all of a sudden start scratching.

I take off all labels. I think some are sewn in with invisible thread which drives me bonkers. I really like the garments with printed labels...nothing to start me scratching.

i usually cut them the closest possible to the sewing line without cutting the garment and eventually the rest unravels and you can pull it out easily...i hate them too..thy drive me bonnnkers...lol
