I love dogs - have always had at least one in my life - right now I have 3 French bulldogs - they are the light of your lives - they really run our house and we wouldn't want it any other way. Have fun with your new additions.

I do love big dogs, my brother has a shelter type Nanny Dog (aka a Pitbull) who is the best dog, but since I have my joint difficulties and can't guarantee a run every day or even throwing a toy daily, I get smaller, happy to be lazy type dogs.

Nattie is curled up in her brand new bed, made from an old suitcase, a cut up mattress pad and a flannel scrap quilt cover. She's most happy, sniffed around, went potty in the yard, had dinner of chicken and rice (her usual dinner as she's prone to nausea at night otherwise), got her blood glucose check like a trooper, got her shot, did more sniffing and curled up in her bed.

Sammy trotted all over, had dinner, pottied outside, checked out the yard, barked at a rabbit, came in, sat on my feet while I worked on finishing a quilt, and is now snuggled next to Nattie dreaming away.

Max is just Mr Cheerful. Everything is fantastic in his world. He's got a yard, his food and toys, he's set. His tail hasn't stopped wagging. He's on the bed under my nightstand, he prefers a roof while sleeping. He's got a beanbag type nest bed, with a navy, gray and bright pink quilt cover.

My cats gave me disgusted glares of hate for bringing the lower life forms in their house, but a bribe of chicken and no dogs on the bed has satisfied them for tonight.

But, hearing their sleepy, comfortable sighs as they snuggle into their beds makes me very happy. Next week, a groomer trip and picking out their own toys at the store.

As I told a coworker who doesn't get why anyone would get an old dog - they deserve a warm bed and home of their own, even more than puppies to me. Senior dogs have been good dogs for years and don't deserve to be punished simply for not being a puppy and thrown out of a home. So, I like making sure they're extra comfortable and pampered now. Or every dog deserves their own quilt.

I am so glad to hear that these dogs are getting such a good home.
I've always had dogs. I love them. The one we have now is 16 years old and has heart problems but he still likes to have his walks and is still eating well. We'll let him live out his days in comfort.
We have decided not to have any more pets. Our health problems would prevent us from giving a pet the care it deserves.
I love hearing about everyone's pets and seeing all the cute pet pics.

Bless you for giving love to those older dogs. We have rescue cats and dogs, none of which were puppies, kittens at time of adoption. Raised children, puppies in my past......want furry friends now who know how to behave....

THANK YOU SO MUCH for giving a rescue dog a new home!!! I volunteer at our local SPCA, and am absolutely thrilled when our 'older' dogs get a new home. Have a wonderful Christmas!

Thank you for your generous heart and giving these dogs a home. Too many people abuse animals and it sickens me beyond words. I had a beautiful Golden Retriever who went to doggie heaven in 2002. He was put to sleep as I held him in my arms. I miss him every day.
