Good news and Bad news!

I found a growth in the area around my privates so I called the Doctor (wonderful woman). They got me in to see her within 3 hours so that made me a little nervous. She takes a look and tells me it is just a little cist that has formed around an ingrown hair. The size of the cist including the liquid that had formed around it was about the tip of my baby finger. Happy Day!! Then she tells me that there will be some pain when she gives me the shot to deaden the area so she can take the cist out. Man, let me tell you, she is the queen of understatement. Her assistant came in to hold my hand (and obviously have me squeeze the life out of it) and she told me I could say “bad words”. Good thing since I could not have held them back anyway.
The good news is that one of the wonderful parts of going to the doctor is have to get weighed. I was shocked to learn that I had lost 17 pounds in the last year. I felt I may have lost a little but usually am wrong when I think this.

Moral of the story: When you go to the doctor you sometimes get good news.

I was feeling your pain as you described the injection! Ouch is probably not a strong enough word. :( Glad the cyst turned out to be minimal!!

I'm so happy it was only a cyst. However, were you trying to lose weight over the year? If not that kind of weight loss without a reason is not necessarily a good thing. Please, please get a full check up. I really don't mean to scare you or be negative in any way. I just want for you to be well.

I had one of those (even larger) and the Dr said to go home and sit in very hot water as often as I could and it would come to a head and I could pop it myself. It did and I did and everything was fine in a couple days.

my Doctor's office doesn't weigh me since I went on Medicare.
i had some small glands get swollen in that area and they were so very sore. one time my Doctor lanced one! when i came down off the ceiling, i said no more. it was even more sore after that, so i just let them do their thing. Bartholomew glands was the name I think. very natural thing but one i wished i hadn't had to go through.
