I miss my Winney dog who would catch mice, rats or any other noxious rodent invading her yard. She would catch kill and leave far away from her house. The only way I knew was to find the bodies when weeding and cleaning up the flower beds. She really hated moles. Those she would hear and dig until she got them, sometimes going completely underground to do so.

I always had to look before I stepped out onto my porch to see what gift had been left by our Burmese black. Usually it was a snake (small ones, non-poisonous).

Too cute! Good kitty. Consider yourself lucky, she is a catch release girl. My barn cats only bring me parts of things they caught, except moles. I have decided moles are made of rubber because if one of my dogs gets to a mole prize one of my cats brought to me, I've caught the dogs chewing and chewing, like they were chewing bubble gum and not one hole in the darn moles - they are made out of tough rubber!

My dogs do that. Down here you really have to watch. We almost lost one of ours just because she bit into a small reptile of some type. $300.00 later and 6 years later she continued to bring presents.

I googled "gila monster" and have the impression that's what it might have been! If so, they are venomous. We used to let our cats outdoors, but eventually decided they are just safer as indoor pets. Your cat looks wonderfully healthy, especially for her age.

We have little anole lizards here, and our previous cats preyed on them. The vet told me that for unknown reasons eating the anole lizard causes wasting in cats. He pointed out that if we could figure out what does it (and if it would work for people), we could bottle it and get rich!

I have to add my "cat tale" to this list. We got Jasmine from the animal shelter, when she was full grown and had been fending for herself in the wild quite nicely, until someone caught her and turned her in. I couldn't bear to bring her in full time, when I knew how much she loved to hunt - esp the moles out under our trees. One day a piano student arrived, and said "Mrs. T - do you know about the rabbit feet on your front steps?" I was aghast to find several baby bunny feet out there, and had to promptly dispose of them before we were all too grossed out! Guess Miss Jasmine liked to eat on the front porch!

My fur babies are inside. One was feral when I tamed him as a baby. He sits by the sliding glass door and watches birds and makes this strange sound,I call it a chortal. Does any one know what to call it. I don't understand why. My other cat is a princess and wouldn't dream of touching any thing disgusting,

My Romeo occasionally brings me dead mice. I praise him for being a great hunter, feed him treats and dsipose of the victim. I am glad they are fully dead and not just 7/8ths dead.
