Default Halloween Costumes

Anyone else gearing up for the annual Halloween costume making fun? On Facetime with DGD last night and she wants to be Harley Quinn (had to look that one up), but she always likes to put her own twist on things we make together so she doesn't look like anyone else. We'll be hitting JoAnns and the thrift shops this weekend. She's 13 and will just be hanging out with friends and not trick or treating. I have to contact her twin brother this week to see if he wants a costume, too. Their Mom passed away 6 years ago and she used to make gorgeous costumes for them. (Miss you every day, Dusti!)

Yes, the Fairy Godmother Workshop started about 2 weeks ago. I am making 5 costumes - 2 mermaids, a camo princess, a first time princess and a genie (in a bottle). By the time I am done, I am SSOOOOOOO glad to get back cotton fabrics and straight/curved lines. But I really do love being the Fairy Godmother.

I'm glad that you are willing to keep up the costume tradition for the grandkids.

It's fun - especially when one starts a MONTH ahead of time instead of the day before - like someone I knew!

I have one wanting to be the creeper and one wanting to be a purple m&m. Easy enough I think. Oldest always dresses a Shaggy from Scooby Doo.

Oh yes! I am in the middle of making a Raggedy Ann wig for my 1 yr old GD Chloe. I found a red stretchy cloche cap and I am tying loops of red yarn through the holes. It is turning out pretty cute!

Just got done with Gnomeo and Juliet for my grandchildren ages 5 & 6. Was actually an easy year for costumes to make. Found the perfect dress at Goodwill so only had the cape and jacket to make and did those from Snuggies. Doing the HAPPY dance this year. Other years have been rather time consuming.
