I made the hand foot cream from the recipe on here. Baby Lotion, Vaseline and Vitamin E cream (all 16 ozs). It looked fine and then I went on a trip (quilting retreat) and a higher elevation - and it separated and looked different - you could mix it with your finger, and then use it, it rubbed in OK. Any ideas what I did wrong, was it the elevation or something else. I gave a jar to my three quilting buddies. I was embarrased.

I made some about 3 weeks ago. It is great and I love it. I guess the elevation or maybe heat effected it. Who knows?

elevation does funny things to stuff... no need to be embarrased.

Baby lotion has water in it, they use an emulsifier to keep the oils and water in suspension. If there was a change in heat, elevation, and the percentages of oils (as in the addition of Vitamin E and Vasoline), the emulsifier has no way to keep all that in suspension.
