Handmade Gifts
#13
Oooh, I agree! I'd love to get an apron as a gift. Maybe I should start an apron exchange. I've sewed four. One simple one from a panel, one retro one, one with sun-dyed fabric, and one "quilty" one. They can be quick and inexpensive or elaborate -- either way we wear them all the time, we call them our "bibs" .

I make potholders and sell them both retails and wholesale to stores so needless to say, I usually have plenty on hand so I very often use them as gifts. I also recently started making coasters/mug mats with my scraps. I am finding I often include one in a birthday card or in a note to a friend. They are especially good when sending an encouraging note to a friend who is not feeling well or who is going through a difficult time.
