www.craigslist.com

It is a buy and sell site for all kinds of stuff, rentals, some personals. It can be specific to your area.

It appears to be world wide.

It is different than ebay. Ebay you buy using auction or buy now. Craigslist you buy straight out if you get to the item in time.

Here is a link to facts regarding Craigslist.

I check my local craigslist every day. I look under "Arts and Crafts," then I go to garage sales and search for "fabric." Every so often I do a general search under "quilt."

It's a great way to find quilters who are unloading some stash, which means great deals for you...

There is a strange little website called www.searchtempest.com where you can enter where you are and the terms to search on and it will check those cities around you. It is kind of hard to understand but helpful once figured out. Saves a lot of time.

CL has a search feature - search 'sewing' - then in whatever category someone posts an ad sewing machines or sewing related stuff comes up. I realize people don't look at all the categories so I post on arts and crafts, antiques, household or maybe appliances.
