The highway from Trenton AFB to the Coroner's Office in downtown Toronto has been renamed the Highway of Heroes. As you watch this video, please note that this tribute happens each and every time a fallen Canadian soldier is brought home from the fighting in Afghanistan.

Last December I had the honour of standing on a bridge in tribute. It was a heart-wrenching and amazing experience.

That was wonderful! I just came home after going to our elementary school Veterans Day program now I'm wiping tears again. Our elementary school provides a marvelous tribute to our local veterans and has the hallway walls decorated with pictures of men and women who have served in the past. They even asked if I would send my late MIL's information there and a copy of her "Rosie the Riveter" certificate so that they could add that piece of history to their "Wall of Heroes".

My sister lives in Pickering. I was there for Christmas last year and she's the one who took us to the bridge.
