It's gingerbread cookie dough rolled out and cut into the house shapes and baked. The icing is called royal icing it dries hard - those little decorations you can buy at the grocery store for cakes are made from royal icing.

I bake the cookie a little longer than the directions indicate because I want it hard but not burnt :-). Last year I found a cookie cutter set for gingerbread houses. It's so fun to make at Christmas I decided to make one for Halloween.

Very cute! When I used to teach we made graham cracker houses a few times at Christmas. Gingerbread houses are so much fun!
